Privacy Policy
Juche TV is designed to be usable with as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the Service, why, and the choices you have. The Service is operated by Juche TV (located in Myanmar); live channels and radio are provided by KoryoFront (located in South Africa).
1Information we process
a. Information you give us
Juche TV does not require an account, login or registration. If you contact the team voluntarily (for example with a correction or a takedown request), we process the contact details and message content you provide, solely to respond.
b. Information collected automatically
- Server and CDN logs — IP address, browser/user-agent, requested pages, timestamps and referrer, generated automatically when you load pages, streams or files. Used for security, abuse prevention and capacity planning.
- EPG API queries — when the schedule loads, your browser requests the EPG endpoint (for example ?ch=KCTV&date=2026-08-17). The channel and date parameters, along with standard request metadata, are logged by the API host.
- Local browser storage — the site may store functional preferences (such as player or display settings) locally on your device. This data does not leave your browser.
2What we do not do
- We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural ad trackers;
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal data;
- We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites;
- We do not knowingly collect personal data beyond what is described in this policy.
3Third-party services
The Service relies on independent providers whose own privacy policies apply when your browser connects to them:
- KoryoFront (South Africa) — provides all TV channels and radio streams; stream delivery infrastructure may log standard connection data.
- Vercel — hosts the Juche TV EPG API; processes API request metadata.
- Google Fonts — delivers the typefaces used on the site; receives standard request data such as your IP address.
- Wikimedia — certain channel logos are loaded from Wikimedia servers.
4How we use information
- To deliver streams, pages, publications and EPG data you request;
- To keep the Service secure, detect abuse and prevent disruption;
- To diagnose outages (for example, reception-site incidents announced on the homepage banner);
- To understand aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns (e.g. which channels are most watched) so we can prioritise preservation work;
- To comply with valid legal requests where required.
5Legal bases
Where data-protection law applies, we rely on: legitimate interests (operating and securing a free preservation service), consent (where you voluntarily contact us), and legal obligation (where disclosure is required by law).
6Retention
Server and API logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operational purposes and are then deleted or anonymised. Correspondence is kept until the matter is resolved. Browser-local data remains on your device until you clear it.
7Sharing
We do not share personal data except with: (a) KoryoFront, as required to operate the joint EPG and stream delivery; (b) infrastructure providers listed in Section 3, strictly as needed to run the Service; and (c) authorities, where disclosure is legally required.
8International processing
Juche TV operates from Myanmar and KoryoFront from South Africa, with hosting in additional countries. Using the Service means your request data may be processed in any of these locations. We take reasonable steps to ensure an adequate level of protection wherever data is processed.
9Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access restriction — to protect the systems we control. No internet service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
10Your rights and choices
- Access / deletion — you may request access to, or deletion of, personal data you have given us (for example correspondence) via the contact channels on the Juche TV website.
- Browser controls — you can block or clear local storage and cookies through your browser settings; the core Service remains usable without them.
- Opting out of logs — standard web logs are unavoidable when requesting any website; using the Service constitutes acceptance of this minimal logging.
11Children
The Service is a general-audience archive of state media and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its revision date; material changes will be highlighted on the homepage notice banner where appropriate.
13Contact
Privacy questions and requests can be sent to the Juche TV team through the official contact channels listed on the Juche TV website. See also our Terms of Service and EULA.
